My Teeth, My Mess!

For the first time since Cohen was born an entire week went by where I did pick up the camera to take a picture of him. Maybe I am a little bored of my subject... doubt that, I think life just got in the way. I have been busy editing Jill and Justin's wedding as well as other photo shoots. The launch of my new website will be soon since I have been working non-stop on that. Then there was Jeremy's birthday last night and we also went out on Saturday night for that as well. I guess life has just gotten in the way.

Cohen has really changed in the past couple of weeks. He cut his first teeth and now looks like a toddler. He has even more hair, but still not much. Its blonde, with yes a little red. Jeremy hates the red! The teething thing for us was a piece of cake. Just a little throwing up but nothing too gross. He is now saying momma, instead of only dada. He says da for Koda (our dog) and dadada for Grumpa. He hits himself on the head when he sees gramma on the webcam. Not sure why but he only does it when he sees her. It must be his way of saying "Hi Gramma". I have always said this kid is a little strange, but in a good way. Of course he is still walking... now he is trying to run and has even played down the street with some of the big kids in the neighborhood. It totally made me nervous because of falling on the cement, but he did just fine. No spills, and he kept up! So here are a bunch of pictures from last night since I have fallen behind for a week. Enjoy.

Almost forgot the best thing... If you ask Cohen where his pee pee is he grabs it. The picture of him grabbing himself holding the sock monkey demonstrates that. He is a total boy. He knows the two parts of his body that he is most proud of right now, his pee pee and his teeth. I am trying to teach him nose so that he learns another part other than his junk! He is not interested. His nose doesn't feel good when you touch it so why would he care about it????

Jeremy Turns 30

Its a little late in the day but I wanted to wish my baby's daddy a happy birthday! Jeremy turns the big 30 today. I keep telling him age is just a number but then again I am younger than he is. It is crazy to think that I have seen Jeremy through 12 birthdays now. I cannot believe how the time has flown by. Pretty soon Jeremy will need a walker ;)

No really, happy birthday Jer. Cohen and I love you!!!

Walking Like Old Hat

Really, this baby that is walking and picking up objects without loosing balance, to just continue walking after doing so, is just that... a baby. At 10 months old Cohen is walking better than ever expected. He was a ham this weekend at Jill's wedding walking up to anyone and everyone and even getting out on the dance floor. He was a show stopper for sure. Everyone keeps asking me for more videos so here you all go. This was taken today.

We love that he is walking but it has taken him to a whole new level, literally. He can get into trouble now that he has some reach and does just that. Getting into my drawers, pulling stuff from shelves, and simply reeking havoc on my life, house and on Koda. This new found freedom for him has created a kid with energy and coordination and he is using it to explore his new little world to the fullest. He is a total turd, a good turd but a turd!

One Tiny Tooth!

Took these this morning before we left our Little Rock hotel. I couldn't help myself, the lighting was great and the white bed linens looked so crisp as Cohen played with Jeremy on the bed. So I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots. You can totally see Cohen's tiny little tooth in the first shot. He is also getting another tooth right next to that one but it is a slow poke. We had a great weekend in Little Rock and now Stacy has to leave us tomorrow and I hate to see her go :( I am shooting a wedding in Minneapolis this July so I will see her then. So really it is not goodbye, it is just until later :)

And Now She is Mrs. Fiser!

Today Jill Tolson became Jill Fiser and Justin became one of the luckiest guys I know. Jill is one of my best friends and the wedding was as beautiful and she is. Stacy took the above photo and did a great job. I am going to be editing all of her shots and the shots I took so when I get them finished I will post more.

Have fun on the honeymoon guys!

Stacy is here and I am loving her company and the fact that she will pick up her camera on demand and take much needed photos of Cohen and I. Now, Cohen is cutting teeth (two bottom ones) and he is being a real pain. I feel bad for him but come on Cohen you are suppose to be an angel when we have company! I think she is enjoying him none-the-less!

Cohen Kisses Momma

Okay so I never really post anything with me in it or that involves me but this video that I some how took one handed was just so cute and so gross at the same time. I asked Cohen to kiss me and of course being the sweet boy that he is he did, then being the little pain in my ass that he is he bit my nose, pulled away, leaving behind a strand of drool that was so gross. I just had to share it with everyone. I love how he looks at the camera and smirks before he dives in for the kiss.

He is so fun and so mean all at the same time!

She Bengs!

Stacy Bengs... One of my closest and coolest girlfriends. She may be younger than me by too many years but its like we were meant to find each other in Minneapolis. She is a photographer too, and actually was my student photographer but we quickly ditched the professional relationship,(unless I cracked my whip while she was on the clock) and became close friends, like sisters really. I want to nurture and take care of her. I watched Stacy go from a shy photographer to college photographer of the year in Minnesota last school year. She is so talented... She one one of the first to photographers to arrive to the bridge collapse a few years back and she received a ton of national exposure for her images... She was even on Anderson Cooper. She has me beat. She is talented but better yet she is kind and a great friend... loyal! And she is flying in to NW Arkansas today to see little old me, Cohen and photograph Jill's wedding in Little Rock. Jill is going to love her! I love it and cannot wait to spend the weekend with her!

She is going to kill me with all the pics but I just had to post a few of my favs. We use to use each other as guinea pigs in the studio (ie: last photo) and have so many embarrassing shots of each other that she never thought I kept... I kept them :) She is going to kick my ass so instead of posting all photos of her I put a couple in there of me too! Love you Stace!

Here are some of her bridge shots... I remember it so well. I cannot believe it ever happened. That day was surreal!

Luck of the Irish

From his blue eyes, to his fair skin, to being a Foley and an O'Shaughnessy... although Italian too this kid looks Irish for now. So happy St. Patty's Day!

Update on what we have been up to...

Cohen is cutting his first tooth. At 10.5 months it is about time. Slowpoke.. But it hasn't been that bad. I had heard horror stories of crying and up all night, to fevers and vomiting! Cohen has just been chewing on everything... much like a little puppy and he has been throwing up his bottle at night, which is really kind of gross cause his solids come with it. Yuck! Its the bottom right, I am sure I will post pictures when it really breaks threw. He now walks totally instead of crawling and only resorts to crawling when it will get him somewhere or away from something more quickly. It really is a sight to see a tiny 10 month old walking! Its really very cute, but of course I am bias.

I also finally finished the above mural for Cohen's room. I was so nervous about doing it myself but I think it turned out pretty good. My mom and sister are not the only talented artists in our family... look out! I really do feel like Cohen will change the world someday. He just has that something about him... his spirit is so damn happy and positive!

I am working on launching a new photography website and plan on giving my photography a go with a studio and everything. I hope to have a studio running by May so until then I am just going to be shooting out of the house. Right now I am doing free portrait sessions for all parents that have a new baby... by new I mean less than 2 weeks old, preferably just a couple of days, so please get in touch with me or let your friends know that are expecting. When I get the site launched I will also post as well.

That is it for now. Enjoy your St. Patty's Day and enjoy yourself a green beer! :)

{Enjoy}

Nothing new going on... I took these pictures yesterday. He has been sleeping so hard with being sick so I figured I would take advantage of the fact and play around with him a bit. The tub shot was just for fun too, I am trying new things simply for practice. The sleeping shots are a few of my favs thus far. Enjoy!

More Walking

Everyone has been asking to see more of Cohen walking since he really is full on walking now at only 10 months. Here is a video of Cohen walking across the entire kitchen yesterday. He looks like such a big kid. It is so cute to see this little 19 pounder (15th% for his age) walking. Notice the hiccups that he has... I can hardly walk and talk myself. Not bad for a guy who just started walking. Enjoy the video. Sorry it is on the lengthy side!

DREAM BABY

I took these pictures today... Cohen slept in because he is battling a double ear infection and infected tonsils. We had to go to urgent care on Saturday, which in return forced me to have to skip my first over night stay away without Cohen. I was suppose to spend the night in Hot Springs at a lake house for one of my best girlfriend's bach. party. I still say Jeremy put Cohen up to the ear infections and tonsil issue. Cohen has never had anything other than a runny nose so his first real sickness couldn't have come at a worse time. (The hospital in December is a separate issue) Cohen has seriously been a sick free baby. As you can tell from the pictures above he is starting to feel better!

The Way I Walk!

Cohen is really walking, he is walking even more and without someone encouraging him. He just takes the plunge himself for no reason except to get from point A to B on his feet instead of his knees. Jeremy is just in awe of this feet and thinks that Cohen is so advanced. (Of course we do, we our proud parents) I think that I want Cohen to slow down a bit... I just do not want him to grow up anymore than he already has. He is so much fun!

Seattle Recap - Baby, Bras, and Family

Reading with Gramma
Putting p.j.'s on with Michaelanne
Playing with Tommy
In heaven with the super bra
With Momma and looking nothing like me

First of all I better apologize to my sister, Michaelanne, for the bra pic but I just could not help myself. Cohen is either going to totally be into boobs or be totally frightened of them. I am guessing the first but you never know. Its no secrect that my sister is blessed. Cohen discovered her bra and really had fun playing with it. We could not help but embarass him by snapping a handful of shots of him playing and getting tangled up in it. I am still laughing just thinking about it!

We are back from Seattle! Our week and a half trip went by so fast. I am so mad at myself that I really didn't take any pictures while I was there. I have no pictures of Cohen with my dad... Sorry Grumpa! I didn't take any pictures when Cohen and I got together with all of the Beach side of the family. However Aunt Patty will be sending pictures that she took. I also did not take a single picture when we got together with my mom's side of the family. So I am a bad mom but I guess I just get tired of taking photos all the time.

Above are a few shots from our trip. We really didn't do anything exciting. We just spent our days visiting family and friends. Oh, Cohen is 10 months today and he is walking for real now vs. his kind of walking that he was doing before. I will try to post a video of that today as well since he is at mother's day out.

Naked Almost 10 Month Old

Cohen turns 10 months on the 6th... I know I can't even believe it! Seriously the time has flown by. I stole a page from my friend Jocelyn who is a great photographer herself and stripped Cohen down and took his 10 month portrait naked in the park. I am sure every onlooker thought I was the worlds worst mother. It was 40 degrees out for god sake and I had my kid bare assed at the park with grass sticking to every part of his body including his rear. He seemed to really like being naked and in the grass at first but then I think the elements hit him and he was ready to put his clothes back on and get back to Gramma's where she keeps him warm.

So, 10 months... I think Cohen is weighing about 19 pounds maybe???? We don't go back to the doctor until he is a year, except to get one more shot, that he should have already gotten, so maybe he will get weighed then. He is walking and just this weekend he started standing from a seated position without having to use a person or object to pull himself to his feet. He even took a few steps after getting to his feet. My guess is he will really start to mastering the walking thing over the next few weeks. Just great... I am having a hard enough time keeping up with him now, while he is crawling.
