Love His Laugh!

Just because I love his laugh so much!

Its Always Unexpected

We took Cohen to the park this past weekend. Jeremy decided to take him down to the creek and let him throw rocks into it. I guess Jeremy didn't realize that this kid, who loves the water, wasn't going to be okay with just standing by and throwing rocks. So you guessed it... into the creek went Cohen and Dad had to follow. Then we striped Cohen down to put a fresh diaper on him and off he went... naked baby in the park. He hates clothes and loves being naked! We thought it was all pretty funny. Not sure what all the people at the park thought and of course I videoed instead of helping. It was the weekend... I was off work. It was Jeremy's turn!

Cohen In All His Realness

Our days are spent outside. Dirt, sweat, stickiness, rocks, and more dirt... that is Cohen. I love that despite being a photographer I do not feel like I always have to be taking that amazing shot or perfectly composed image. This is my boy... all 23lbs of him! You spend a day with him, this is what you would get. Throw in some hugs, some whining, some kisses and some hitting and these images would some up the day, oh lets not forget snuggles with his blanket.

Sweetness... Its In There!

So I took these with my iphone today so that explains why they are a little blurry. We are moved but not moved in. I do not really want to talk about the new house because I am not really over the old one. I went to lunch with Sarah... close friend and old neighbor :( She brought along her 2.5 week old son Eli who Cohen just loves! Does this mean we have to have another soon????

So Sarah set Eli's seat down as we chatted curbside after lunch so Cohen just plopped down legs spread (top photo) in attempts to hold and rock baby Eli. It was the cutest thing, especially since it was not force. He just did it on his own. Then he proceeded to have to help Sarah carry the seat to the car and of course since he is boss he had to take the helm and lead the way. It had Sarah rolling and saying man I am glad I had a girl first. (She had two back to back girl then boy and now 9 years after her first Eli... she loves the help from the older two)

Just when I was worried that Cohen was going to continue on his path of aggressive behavior... biting, hitting, punching, biting, swinging his bat at everyone and everything, climbing, kicking, hitting, screaming, swinging his arms... I can go on. He does something sweet and nurturing like this. He did however rock Eli with some force but his intentions were to be sweet. Cohen goes at everything full force with 100% effort. I love that about him but man he needs to tone it down a bit since his force is that of weight lifter and his effort is that of an NFL running back trying to break tackles to reach the end-zone!

Have I mentioned that he does not go to daycare and I certainly don't hit (Jeremy would beg to differ since from time-to-time I give him a good ass whooping) so I am convinced that this behavior is just inheritanly boy and behavior that is going to be just because he is just that... A BOY! None-the-less Cohen is going to get his ass kicked the first day of daycare or school, which ever comes first... unless I do it before the other kids get to him. I swear until today with Eli I was convinced that military boarding school was certainly in his future. Thank you Eli for bringing out the sweet in my sweet thing!

{Moving}

Its sad... I am sad... We are moving. How can this be right? Well we sold our house last month with a quick close and that is it, we are gone. My cute little home... the house we lived in when Cohen was born. We spent Christmas there pregnant, and then we spent Cohen's first 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter at this house. There is a cute little mural that I labored over painted on his wall. His room is my favorite in the house. I feel safe here and maybe my most favorite part of all is walking to the mailbox with no shoes on and having Cohen follow me with no shoes or clothes, just his diaper. We know our neighbors and enjoy stopping by for visits or borrowing salt and pepper, yard blowers, gas for the grill, ladders, brown sugar, I could go on. Without my neighbors I would have to go grocery shopping more and spend more money at Home Depot. Its like we have a mini co-op here where we just share stuff. Its nice really. I never feel alone because of them!

So we are packing and out on Friday. I am sad... I brought Cohen home from the hospital to this house. I have cleaned, gardened, painted, and complained about all I want and need to do to this house. This is/was my family's first home together. So I am sad but will get over it. Well, maybe!

15 Month Recap

So after a long three weeks is Seattle Cohen and I are back home. We arrived home on Monday morning after a redeye flight. I am pretty sure that this last trip marked round trip number 9 with Cohen. That pretty much makes me an expert on traveling with babies so if anyone needs advice holler!

Cohen had a minor procedure done on Wednesday in Little Rock. We checked into Arkansas Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning so Cohen could have his small intestine scoped. This is hopefully the end in what has been a long 12 months of wondering what the heck is wrong with my kid and why the hell does he poop like he does. When I say like that refers to the quantity and its appearance. My life has literally been filled with nothing but shit since he has been born. I can honestly say I have changed at least 6-10 poop diapers a day. We will know the results of his biopsy on August 19th.

So as of yesterday Cohen is now 15 months. He weighs 22lbs 11oz. He is 31in tall and his head circumference is 18 inches. He is small all around but looks really good. He is a total boy! He doesn't listen for s*^t, he hits me a lot but it is usually followed by a hug and a kiss. He loves his bat, he loves his ball (both kinds) and his new thing... seriously eating pounds of blueberries. We can thank my sister for that one. While in Seattle Cohen picked and ate a ton of blueberries from my sisters back yard.

Oh we sold our house and have to be out in exactly one week so don't expect much blogging. My life is going to be filled with packing, keeping Cohen out of my hair, packing, putting Cohen in time out (which doesn't work), watching Cohen unpack what I just packed and so on and so on! Wish me luck!
