Home From Seattle

We are home from Seattle and I was praying that Cohen's new found demeanor was not just a Seattle thing. You know he loves his Grandma and Grumpy as well as Grammy Kate and his aunts, uncles and friends in Seattle. So I figured when we returned to Arkansas he would be less stimulated and go back to being fussy.

I think all new mom's will tell you that the first few months with a new baby are really tough. You spend every second trying to figure out your new baby and what makes them happy or what is making them cry. So, when you have a solid month of a fussy baby where you spend every second catering to their every whimper, tear, and babble it is so gratifying to receive smiles and laughs throughout the day. Its like finally, you are getting a thank you in return.

We have finally reached that point. No more fussy newborn and hello happy baby!

This Time Last Year

This time last year Katie Rauh became Katie Bunyard and I was able to document one of my  nearest and dearest friends get married on the beach in Mexico, in my bathing suit!!!! Talk about your dream job, huh? I believe that everyone that was there will concur that it was a blast!

The pacific ocean was fed bridesmaid dresses, a lot of margaritas were consumed and some serious tanning sessions were had. Everyone should get married on the beach. As a matter of fact I am dreaming of white sandy beaches, with my best girlfriends and margaritas right now!

This Time Last Year - I was on a beach in Mexico!

My Final Favorites

I absolutely love the last image. Jeremy is always kissing Cohen all over and it seems to send the chills up his spin because he always makes this face or one similar. It cracks me up so much!
Jocelyn, thank you so much for the photographs. They are priceless!

More Family Pics

I love so many of the pics that Jocelyn took. I also cannot decide whether I prefer black and white or color. Usually I like black and white best but I think that the color of Cohen's romper is too pretty to not like the pics in color better. Either way they are all great!

Photos By Jocelyn Brown

Jeremy's best friend Ryan Brown has a twin sister named Jocelyn. And lucky for Jeremy and I Ryan's sister is a pretty talented photographer. So, yesterday before Jeremy left for home we put her to work taking some family photos. Jocelyn was kind enough to give me everything she took (500 plus images!). So above are just some of my favorites that I edited. You can check out Jocelyn's blog for her favorites from the shoot. And if you live in or near Seattle she is starting to do freelance so if you pics of your family or children you know how to find her! Just thought I would throw that in.

Little Miss Maddie

The above pics are of little Miss Maddie... She is a total ham, as if you can't tell. Friday I took Cohen over to Katie and Trav's for a bbq and Maddie was there to entertain us all. She is so stinkin cute!

Bath at Grandma's

Cohen and I are in Seattle for a two week stay to visit the family. The above pictures are from one of his baths at Grandma's (my mom, Jeremy's mom is Grammy) house. His baths are part of his nightly bed time routine. He will be staying the night at his Grammy's this Saturday so I am sure we will have some bath pictures from that to post soon!
This boy loves his baths!!!

2 Month Dr. Appointment

The above is a picture of Cohen just shortly after his two month doctor's appointment. Note the metallic band aid on his thigh. Needless to say he was not happy about the series of shots he received on both thighs.

He weighed in at a whopping 10.5 lbs. Which puts him in the 20% for his age but he is 23.5 inches tall which puts him in the 55% for his age. He goes back to the doctor in September for his next round of shots.

This Time Last Year!

 Jeff and Kelly
Alicia and Kelly
Left: Katie, Stacy, Shelby, Katie, Kelly, Lisa, Angela, and Lynne!

Taking a page from Lynne Partridge I bring you a "This Time Last Year".

So this time last year I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding and somehow I was also the photographer thanks to Jeremy. Jeremy took pictures during the ceremony and killed it. He did an awesome job as you can see from the top picture. That is his. I am missing from the below picture since I took that so sorry Kel you did not get a pic around your cake with all your bridesmaids.

So this time last year Kelly Searight became Kelly Giese and Jeff became the luckiest guy I know by snatching up Kel. Now, they are expecting their first child. (due in late Dec. or early Jan.) Congrats to you both and happy anniversary!

First 4th of July

So this was the best shot I could get of Cohen in his red, white and blue onesie with stars on it (I believe my aunt Kathy bought it for him so thank you!) before he had a massive blow out that led to me having to change his outfit. I guess these things happen with all babies but I swear this kid does it more than the average. Which is another indicator that yes, Jeremy is indeed his father! :) For those doubters out there.

Our 4th was uneventful... Our neighborhood put on a large display of fireworks just after dark so we took Cohen out to that and mingled with the neighbors. Cohen loved the fireworks. He was alert throughout the entire show and would get restless in between displays. He did however hate the fireworks that made screeching sounds. I was concerned that all the popping would cause some degree of hearing loss so this morning I double checked his hearing with a round of good morning (see the video post) which is his favorite silly little game right now and he responded in typical fashion. So the boy kept his hearing and loved the fireworks. I would say that was a good first 4th of July despite the diaper blow out.

Bits n' Pieces

Cohen holding Jeremy's finger -  2 weeks old

Cohen's cute new kicks. I love baby shoes -  7 weeks

Cohen 8 weeks

Okay so I absolutely love bits n' pieces of anything really. Cohen just happens to be the cutest thing I have around to photograph so you guys are getting nothing but Cohen for now. I love the top picture because Jeremy's finger looks so massive compared to Cohen's tiny grasp. It allows you to put to scale just how tiny Cohen was when we brought him home. (6lbs 1 oz!) The middle I love because of the colors and the size of those honkers. And the final image, well, to start off with his hands look like that of catchers mitts compared to the rest of his body but its just the simplicity of the image that I like.

A Few More From 8 Weeks . . .

Cohen fell asleep during our 8 week old photo shoot. You know another hard day of photo taking. I started to think that although he is getting so big he is still such a newbe! All curled up in the fetal position, still needing to feel safe and secure. I love the last photo of his feet. I hate grown up feet but love baby feet, especially his!

8 Weeks Old Today!

Cohen is 8 weeks old today. He is getting big and getting big fast.
