Isabel Giese... The Perfect Little Goose!

Check out Isabel... She is something else, from her chubby cheeks and thighs to her full kissable lips. This little bean belongs to my best friend Kelly and her husband Jeff. She was born just days after I flew back home from Seattle at Christmas. I had been dying to meet her, which was one of the main reasons why Cohen and I came to Seattle on our latest trip. (Since we won't be back until July!)

I spent an entire afternoon photographing Isabel. I have never been around such an alert almost 2 month old. She is so active and makes the cutest little sounds. It is going to be so fun to watch her grow up and I am so happy that I was able to meet her while she was still tiny. She is perfect, just like I pictured her to be!

Note: I would post a picture of Isabel and Cohen but Cohen doesn't know how to play nice and all of the pictures of the two of them are of Cohen slapping or gouging Isabel. Maybe we will try again another day before we head home.

The Burrell's

Cohen and I are in Seattle so our blogging is going to be sporadic! Last Sunday morning I meet up with the Burrell family in Kenmore to take their family portrait and pictures of their newest addition, baby Jake who just turned 3 months. He is so cute and such a little guy. He was so easy going and after spending a couple of hours with his mom Stephanie and dad Matt I see where he gets it. They are easy going themselves and such a fun little family. Hope you all enjoy the pics!!!

Who Doesn't Love A Bride... A few more shots!

What A Bride To Be!

Yesterday one of my very best friends, Jill, from college drove up from Little Rock so I could take her bridal portraits. So far I am finding so many photos that I love. Maybe its just she is so beautiful so all of the pictures look good. Jill braved the gale force winds which turned a 55 degree day into what felt like freezing. Looking at how great she looks you never would have known she was freezing to the point of tears and in between shoots she bundled up in her long coat. I cannot wait for her wedding in March. I will not be shooting since I am a bridesmaid but I will have plenty of photographs to share. Until then enjoy these.

A side note:

As much as I complain about living in NW Arkansas, this barn is one of the reasons I like living here. It is about a mile and a half from my house, I drive by it all the time and think to myself every time how great of a spot that would be for portraits. How many people can say they have land like this by their house yet are only minutes from the interstate with no traffic and all the amenities within a five mile radius from their home? The only thing that is missing for me here is family and my friends.

Slobber Monster

Cohen and I have been doing laundry and getting the house in order to head out to Seattle yet again. We leave Friday and I am so excited. Its nice because I get to see family and friends, and Cohen gets some much needed Gramma and Grammy time. Which means I get some much needed ME time!!!!

XOXO!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I can't say that I love Valentine's Day, however it is nice to have someone (Jeremy) make me breakfast and I am sure it was nice for him to wake up to freshly baked heart sugar cookies this morning. (One of his favorites) I am not going to lie, Jeremy makes me breakfast every weekend. He makes the best scrambled eggs with cheese. He puts mine into a sandwich and every weekend I say the same thing "I love these sandwhiches, this is the best one yet!"

So that is our Valentine's Day... SIMPLE! The only thing that would have made it better was Jeremy waking up early to do Cohen duty and letting me sleep ;) I guess that is a hint for next year!

We Love This Gal!

Koda is an old bat but she has been the best friend that I could have ever asked for. Now that Cohen is dropping food when he eats she is really starting to like, but not love our little squirt! She simply tolerates him because she knows she will get his droppings and if she loves him a little or lets him love her she knows Jeremy and I will reward her with some lovin'! Enjoy pics of Cohen and Koda doing a little bonding earlier today.

Check Out The Way I Walk!

I promised a video of Cohen walking so here you all go.
Its kind of walking but its walking. Jeremy and I took the video last night.

Cohen is so cute! Watching this video makes me want to kiss him...right now!
Its short but enjoy!

Jocelyn! I know, I know, Jeremy is not a doctor he needs to drop the scrubs :)

I Can't Believe My Eyes!

I cannot believe it! Cohen is walking. Well kind of more like taking steps. Just a day after turning 9 months old Cohen, in the company of Jill, Andrea, and Justin (I took a little trip to Little Rock on Saturday) Cohen took 2 steps, kept his balance and took a few more and he did this over and over again.

Holy s*%t! I am not ready to have a kid who walks, let alone a 9 month old that walks. I was just getting use to him crawling and having to put up things that were at a crawlers height. Now I have to move everything to well above 2.5 feet.

At his doctors appointment on Friday Cohen weighed 18.7 lbs which puts him in the 20% and is obviously an improvement but where he really showed improvement was with his height. My kid is tall... 28.5 inches, putting him in the 75%. My kid may be slight but he's got height!

I am trying to get the walking on video but it is hard to video and be there for the potential fall so when I get it on video I promise I will post it!

9 Months Today!

Can you believe it? Nine months have flown by already. My tiny little 7 pounder is almost walking. I use to get annoyed when I was pregnant and when Cohen was first born... people would always say "Enjoy it while it lasts, it goes by so fast". I got tired of hearing it. I just kept thinking to myself those first few months, "Man, I wish this would go by faster"! The first few months were so challenging that I wanted time to fly, but now, now I want time to stand still. You see Cohen still needs me but in a way that is less demanding than the first few months. Its more of a want me vs. a need me since he can do so many things for himself now... mostly playing solo and getting from point a to point b without me having to get him there.

Now that Cohen is finally growing (we go to the dr. today so I will have a height and weight update later) he is so happy! I started him in mother's day out at a church here in town. Yes, a church but that doesn't mean Jeremy and I step foot in that place on Sunday :) I really like it and gives me the break I need to feel like something other than "just a mom". I have also been taking him to the daycare at our gym in the neighborhood. Cohen is so social that he loves mother's day out and gym time. He could not care less when I leave him. If feels great to miss him during those hours. Its rejuvenating to have time without him. It makes me a better mom and a better partner to Jeremy.

We are headed back to Seattle for Cohen's 5th trip on the 20th. I cannot wait for family and friends to see how much Cohen has changed since Christmas.

note: the green blanket is the love of his life! He absolutely loves it. Every time he sees it he crawls to it and hugs and snuggles it like its his long lost love.

He Is A Strange One

I took this picture today and it sums up my kids personality perfectly. He is a strange one... He is this awkward funny, the kind of funny that makes you scratch your head and then laugh. He is quiet until he wants to chat and he likes to squeal breathing in instead of screaming breathing out. I laugh at him all day long. He brings a smile to my face when he smiles. He just does the strangest and funniest things throughout the day, and to catch them on film is not easy because he seems to do them when no one is looking, expecting, or when he is on the go. That is why this picture is so great, that and its totally him!

Just Another Day

I really have nothing to post about but I did take these cute pictures today. Cohen's cheeks were really rosy today. Probably because it is freezing cold outside or it could be because the obvious... his pasty white skin (the only thing that is inherently his mother) just allows for rosy cheeks. Either way they are cute! Cohen is standing on his own now. He will be 9 months on Friday and my guess is that he will be walking some time in the next few weeks because he is already taking a few steps and then sitting down. He is quick with the crawl, quick to pull up on everything thing and anyone and he has no fear so bruises these days are not uncommon.
