A Little Sink Time

I love that Cohen is still little enough to take baths in the kitchen sink. Besides being convenient it is just so darn cute to watch him splash around so happy!

Cabin Fever

This picture is the cutest. I took it of Cohen this morning as he watched the big kids in the neighborhood sled down my long slopping front walkway. He heard them out there, crawled to the dining room window, pulled himself up on the window's ledge and watched the kids sled for about 15 minutes. It was so cute as he banged on the window, and screeched with excitement. He wanted so bad to be out there. I only made it worse for him by letting Koda out the front door to go play with the kids. When I did that the banging on the window got even louder and more frequent. Kind of like he was saying, "Hey guys, don't forget about me"!

He is getting so big and does all these little things, like the window today, that tell me he is no longer going to be my little baby for much longer. He is becoming so much more independent as each day goes by. Now, if only he could change his poopy diaper that I just caught a sniff of or better yet potty train himself!

Iced In!

- The above tree usually stands as tall as our garage. Now look at it slumped over :(

I am tired of this crappy weather! I swear... I left Seattle cause it rained too much, Minneapolis because it snowed and was too cold so I came south where the weather is suppose to be warmer. That is why birds fly south for the winter, right? So here I am in Arkansas for the warm weather and we are stuck inside for the 2nd day in a row due to the ice.

I want summer to come so bad!

Ice, Ice Baby!

S.O.S! We are stuck at our house thanks to the ice storm that is hitting half the country but hitting us particularly hard. We already have about an inch of ice! No one can go anywhere. It is crazy... literally ice is falling from the sky and when it lands it stays ice, it doesn't melt. In the pictures it looks like snow on the ground but that is ice pilled up.

Jeremy didn't have to go to work today so he is painting our new office, which use to be Cohen's room. We now moved Cohen to a larger bedroom so he can use it as a playroom too. I hope the ice stays for one more day so we can knock out the painting and a couple other projects. After that I want it to melt and I want warm weather!!! I hate the cold.

Cohen Does Laundry

Just for fun... the above pictures are of Cohen helping me do the laundry. He love, love, loves when I do laundry. He will watch the washer for at least 10 minutes after I start it and when I am emptying the dryer he helps me pull out the clothes. I really think he is in search of his green blanket that we have to wash everyday cause it gets so gross. Little does he know we have two... that way he always has one. When he finds the green blanket, he pulls it from the dryer and hugs it, and then hugs it again and again. I have to get it on video. It is so cute in a weird way! Enjoy the pics.

My Cookie Monster

Who says you need teeth to indulge in a cookie? Cohen is 8.5 months old and still not a single tooth but that did not stop him this morning from devouring this cookie. It was all over him from head to toe, front and back. What a mess, but a pretty cute mess!

note: these cookies only have one gram of sugar! That is quite a find since most goodies for kids and even babies are loaded with sugar. His little set back hasn't been as rough a going as I first thought. :)

Meet Emily and Mike

I know, I know... I have not been blogging much but I have been really busy. Case and point, meet Emily and Mike. Emily is a good friend from my days at the U of M and Mike played football for the Gophers while I was their photographer. Hmm... I am sure I have about a thousand great shots of Mike from his playing days I could post on here. I won't do that to him though since his playing days are over and he has decided to settle down and wed little miss Emily. The above pictures are from Emily and Mike's engagement photo session we had this past Saturday. Emily and Mike drove down here to NW Arkansas to visit Mike's grandparents and to have me take their engagement photos. Emily and Mike are planning to wed this coming July and I am going to be the lucky photographer so stay tuned for pictures from their wedding come July.

Emily and Mike were great. Most guys hate having their picture taken and I thought for sure Mike would have his fill after 20 minutes but Mike was great and gave me plenty of great shots of his adorable dimples. They are adorable don't you think? Both Emily and Mike are so fun. Emily is a ball of energy and just so darn cute! I wish both of them nothing but the best and cannot wait to see them again come July. Thanks Em and Mike for the visit... your welcome back anytime!

Packin' On The Pounds

Look at me now... A full month since going to the hospital in December Cohen has packed on the pounds. He went from only gaining about 6 to 10 oz a month to putting on almost 3 pounds this last month alone!!!! We went down to Little Rock for his follow up appointments to his hospital stay and he weighed 17 lbs 14 oz (25%) and measured in at 27.5(50%) inches long. Huge improvement since he checked out of the hospital at about 14 lbs 11 oz and 26.5 inches long. Needless to say he is doing great with his new formula and sugar free diet.

Now that Cohen is packing on the pounds he is really starting to get active and he is wearing Jeremy and I out. He pulls up on everything so a bonk on the head is not uncommon these days and he is such a terd following me around the house and getting into everything. Thank goodness for good health it sure has made Cohen full of trouble ;)

I took these pictures of Cohen this morning eating puffs (yes they have sugar but he seems to handle them well) in his new highchair.

Meet Little Miss Isabel!

Introducing Isabel Viollete Gies, aka Cohen's new life long girlfriend! Isabel was born Tuesday, January 6th at 7:10pm. Weighing in at 7lb 13 oz and measuring 21 inches. Born to Kelly and Jeff Gies, Isabel is a combo of both parents with a full head of dark hair, dad's eyes, and mom's full lips. She is all girl!

I am so in love... she is perfect. I talked to Kelly today and she is totally in awe of her new little one. I was so disappointed that our trip to Seattle didn't include me meeting little Isabel. Kelly and I have known each other since we were 6 so the birth of her first child was one of those things I was so excited for. I know Kel will be a great mom and I am just so happy and excited for she and Jeff. Congrats Gies family she is simply perfect!

8 Months Today!

Alright... Cohen turned 8 months today so we took our monthly photos to document how he has changed. It is going to be fun to go back and look at how different he was from month-to-month. What is new.... Cohen is crawling or shall I call it army crawling??? He would rather drag his body behind him and I think this is because of the hardwoods we have in our house. It is so much more comfy to do that than bruise up your knees doing the traditional crawl. He follows us everywhere, and you can hear his hands slapping the hardwoods so it is easy to track his movement. Its totally cute. He is also pulling up onto things. Mostly Jeremy or myself. He is also talking more. Da Da and Mom Mom Mom, hi and hey. He laughs all the time at nothing too. He can clap, and gives five thanks to Grumpa. He has finally grown out of his last 3-6 moth onesies and weighs about 16 lbs we are guessing which is a huge improvement. Also his cheeks, they are huge. Totally kissable!

Playing Catch Up!

I know, I know, we have been MIA! Seattle was a blast and now it is time for catch up. Expect a lot of blogging over the next couple of days. We arrived back in AR on Sunday morning around 2:00am and then had to drive about 2 hours to reach home. We are all exhausted!

Cohen celebrated his first Christmas with both the Beach's and the Jerome's. After a long week and a half in Seattle we are adjusting to being home. Cohen is still on Seattle time and he has his first cold... thanks to United Airlines. Which might just be the worst airline ever. We had a bad experience this trip with them but that is for another time. But they are why we arrived home at 2:00am and then had a 2 hour drive just to make it home.

So, today Cohen turns 8 months old... wow! My best friend, Kelly, from childhood is in labor with her first baby literally as I type and I cannot wait to report on that. I am so kicking myself for not extending my trip in Seattle to meet Kelly's little one! Almost started to cry this morning when I got the text that her water broke! To think I am missing something so important. She has a lot of family and support so I feel okay. I just hope she and baby are healthy and doing okay.

Enjoy all the pics from Seattle!
