He is who he is... Cooper is so damn awesome! I mean that, I really really mean that. He keeps me on my toes, brings a smile to my face all the time and leaves me scratching my head, picking my jaw up off the floor and laughing deep belly laughs multiple times a day. Is he really my kid? I have to pitch myself most days. Seriously he cannot get any cooler... and then he goes and does! Lucky me!

This particular video he managed his way into the shower with his pj's on. I was running the shower water to get it warm when Cohen called for me to help him in the toilet room (yes we have a room in our bathroom with just a toilet) and then when I came out this is what I found...

Thanks to my friend Melanie we have something that proves we indeed are a family. We NEVER take a family photography, I mean NEVER. I was starting to worry that the boys would look back and Cooper's first year and wonder if we were ever all together for anything. We literally took about 15 minutes with Melanie... not by choice rather that is all Cohen would give us. The poor kid just doesn't get that the world doesn't revolve around him. Unfortunately it appears our family photos do for now.

Cooper turns 1 on Wednesday and I hope to have his one year photos and snaps from his big day to share with you in a timely matter seeing that I never even did a post for Cohen's third birthday back in May. Do I even have any blog followers anymore? For more photos click HERE.

We tried for his 11 month portraits today. He would not sit still so we put him on a stool which turned him into a real sourpuss. So most of our shots turned out like this one. However, if you go HERE you will see a rare moment... one that I LOVE so that you Jeremy for picking up the camera and snapping a few. I cannot share the rest because they are part of Cooper's 1st birthday invite.

We have been busy here... trying to beat the heat, stay caught up with work and house. The boys are starting to really play together which is so fun to watch. We say it all the time... Cohen has to toughen up because Cooper already is tougher than he is. Cooper dominates Cohen... steals toys, food, whatever else Cohen has and Cohen being the nice big brother doesn't want to hurt him so he puts up a modest fight to say the least. I hear a lot of "Cooper stole from me", "Coop's pulling my hair", "He hit me"... Start the protein shakes Cohen, Coop's only going to get bigger and tougher. After all he is the scrappy younger brother and he is a bit of a red head to boot.

If you have just one child and think that you don't want to have another shame on you... you are doing that first born a disservice! There is nothing better than a sibling. I should know, I have two and I love both of them just about as much, if not more than Cooper apparently loves Cohen.

Cooper loves his brother like something fierce, even when sleeping. I found Cooper loving on Cohen today while Cohen was DEEP into a nap. Seriously... Cooper loves Cohen like I never imaged and I never imaged loving to watch it and be a part of it like I do!

11 month mark

I took these two photos yesterday when I was cleaning up the studio and preping for the week to come. Cooper turned 11 months today so I though I would post his pj shot and a shot of him throwing a cupcake (its fake don't worry). Look at his form though. I say it now... he will be just as good if not better a ball player than his overly obsessed big brother!

Anyway, Coop turned 11 months today. What I want to remember about you (cooper( right now...

Your laugh. There is nothing better. You laughs all the time, sometimes over nothing. Your laugh makes me laugh but most of all it makes me smile and feel warm. You is so happy and its so settling for me to know that he is such a happy guy.

You love to drag things... purses, blankets, buckets, totes, toys, anything with a string, handle, or tale. He is dragging it. And he kind of walks funny while he does it and usually does it while yelling out.

That you say "Hi dad", "Hey", "Koda" (only when he sees her), "dad", "got it" . He says "hi dad" ALL the time. A little "hi mom" would be nice.

I love that when I yell for Cohen, Koda, or Jeremy from across the house you follow suit and yells for them just after me.

That you empty out the drawer full of plastic bowls and cups in the kitchen a hundred times a day

That you started to hate to shower and love the bath. I hate baths so you aren't as clean as you once were. Sorry about that! Like showers again and that will change.

Love that you love being outside and in the sun and pool.

That you play great solo

That you love your brother, kind of obsess over what he is doing, hug him a lot, and even jump on him

I love that you still love to jump on the bed with Cohen just before bed time

That you are obsessed with iPads, iPhones and computers... technology geek you are.

That you love to hug. You hug ALL the time

That you walk really well and take your bumps and bruises like a champ. As a matter of fact you took a header off the stool in the below pic just a few minutes after I snapped that shot and today Cohen hit you in the head with a metal bat. Thats right metal. You have him to blame for any learning disability that you may have in the future. You simply cry for a few seconds and then your off again. Your tough, not a complainer.

I want to also remember your temper... you have one, its quick, nasty and short lived but you are fiery! (just like me)

Lastly, that you sleep so well. You have always been a great sleeper. To bed awake with a bottle and you never fuss. However you are an early riser... 6:30am but I leave you hanging until 7am and you are pretty cool with that most days.

What I want you to know...

I love you with a calmness that has never been in my life before. You ground me, make me grateful to be a mom. You really are very little trouble! I mean that. If I were guaranteed to have another babe with the demeanor that you have been blessed with I would pop that babe out tomorrow but since babies do not come with guarantees... your it. I am quitting while on top, ending on a great note, closing with the best.

Now I know Cohen will read this and think my mom hated me. Not so much, actually the opposite. I love you, Cohen, like something fierce! Your just 3, you whine, you hit, you kick and you back talk. You stay up until 10 even though your in bed at 8:30 and you tell me what you are going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a matter of fact you try to tell me what I am going to eat. You tell me to listen up, get you this, get you that, you forget to say please and thank you, you eat crackers in my bed and leave crumbs behind as a matter of fact you come to bed with me at some point nearly every night. So if you would just get out of my bed with your body and crumbs, say please and thank you, stop hitting, whining and back talking than I too will write a post about all the wonderful things about you but for now this is Cooper's moment in the sun.

So Coop, happy 11 month birthday. I cannot wait until one. I loved you as a baby, it was so easy I do not really have memories of it, if that makes sense. It was uneventful... just you being you. Easy as pie, doing everything well ahead of time, and taking it easy on me. I cannot help but think you were sent here to make my life easier... you just are spectacular. Your joyful heart, gorgeous eyes, charming smile coupled by your laugh, and mischievous ways make me want to freeze you. As tempting as that is you are a terrible flyer right now (its true he is the worst, screams the entire plane ride) so I will let you grow and then consider freezing you and at next perfect age!

4th of July... long over due

We have been enjoy fun in the sun. I have been catching up on work and in between trying to spend as much time with my guys as possible. Cooper turns 11 months on Sunday. Tears... one more month until one. He has been walking since 9.5 months. He is a nut. Super busy, really quirky and mischievous... nothing like Cohen. Needless to say I have had to become a different parent this time around. Cohen was cautious and well Cooper is not! Its fun. Snaps above are from the 4th. I promise to do a photo recap of the last couple of months soon. Until then enjoy pictures from the 4th of July. We did it up southern block party style. Lots of food, grilling, kids, beer, and fire works oh and sun!

seattle sessions

Our trip comes to an end tomorrow. Cohen will say his goodbyes to Grammie Kate tomorrow, as well as to Gramma and Grumpa. We hate to go. Its always hard. Cooper will leave Seattle with his walkin shoes on. He is not crawling at all anymore. He also leaves here a better napper... no swing sleep! He was perfect the entire time of course because he is just so damn easy. Easy going with everything... and boy is he happy, happy, happy and busy, busy, busy! Cohen had a blast with G. Kate, Auntie Linda and Uncle Tony as well as a day where Aunt Patty joined in. He was able to see his best gal Isabel and other mother Kelly and visit with some of my gal pals. He was even able to see his Auntie M's after her 6 week European work adventures. Cohen and Cooper got to spend Monday with their M's. Of course they also had plenty of Uncle T time as well. Cooper however seemed to be sleeping a lot when T would stop by. (his visits were often after 9pm). Cohen also was able to visit with his Aunt Kathie as well. He just loves her... He also had a first. His first day alone with Auntie Linda. Lots of fun and now we pack up and jump a plane for NW Arkansas where the sun actually shines. Wish us all luck... a 10 month old and a 3 year old flying for 7 hours... Luck will not be what I need :)

It has been hot as hell here... 90's. So these are the boys daily outfits and they eat popsicles for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then have ice cream for dessert. If they don't behave I make them eat something hot and healthy! Cheers to summer. There is nothing better!

Cohen and Coop

Okay, okay... same old song. I am busy. I did finally do a post about the boys. Click HERE to check that out. I put it on my photography blog because the format is just nicer for viewing pics and reading.

The weather has been so warm here in the mid south that I can only take outdoor sessions first thing in the morning or later in the evening. That means the boys and I spend all our time out in the back yard with the water hose and Toy Story slip n' slide or poolside at the neighborhood pool. Both boys love the water. Cooper is no where near cautious where Cohen is very thought out and careful but never letting his worry keep him from having fun. He jumps into the pool with no fear as long as he has an adult to jump to or his float on. Cooper on the other hand thinks he is a fish. Tries tearing free from our grip or tries lunging out of his float. He is the one I think I have to worry about. Cooper has bumps and bruises all over, oh and two burn scars on both his hands. He eats dirt from the flower beds, climbs on top of things, climbs the stairs, eats rocks from the gas fireplace, plays in the dog's food and water bowls and is just a mess. I keep thinking he will slow, he will settle down and not think everything is so cool and interesting now that he has tried it all but that's just not happening. The boys are out of school until mid July. We have a trip to Seattle coming up so I saw no point in enrolling them for the first session of summer when they were going to miss half of it with travel. So now that I do not have care for them my time becomes that much more limited and I am still seeing clients. So this may be one of very few blog posts for some time. Although I will try to do better. Until then enjoy these two characters above and visit my photography blog for more reading.

Poor Little Blog

This poor little blog. I had big dreams for you and there were crushed beneath two kids in 2 years, a dog, a babies Daddy... yes babies not baby's we do have two together out of wedlock! As well as a photography business that for some reason leaves me working late into the night every night. Excuses sure but at the end of the day I want to play with my kids in the yard and then put my feet up and watch the same shows I have been watching for years, not blog! Its enough having to keep up with my photography blog and photography facebook page!

Things like Cohen's 3rd birthday go unblogged and Cooper's milestones go uncharted and shared. promise to do better and I do promise a post about Cohen turning three or thirteen if you ask him since he is "big" now as well as Cooper's latest milestones of standing solo and taking his first steps just days before turning 9 months, which he does tomorrow.

So below are pictures from April and May. Cooper was 7 months in the first image and 8 in the second. He dwarfs Cohen... or at least his head does. Sorry Coop bud, your head is a biggie!

Baseball Skills

I know I have said this before but my kids are freakish in the motor skills and development. Do I think they will go on to be some professional athlete or something???? NO, NO I do not but I do think it is pretty ridiculous that Cohen has been able to hit a pitched ball since before he turned two. Videos of that are on my crashed computer. Which is terrible sad and I only hope I can retrieve them. That is for another day.

So here is a video of my almost three year old freakish kid back in March. Soon to follow will be some video of my just turned 8 month old, as in just turned yesterday, already starting to walk. He pushes things around the house. So my kids are freakishly coordinated. Notice I did not say freakishly smart which that is what I wish they were. Smarts go further than coordination however both would be nice! For now coordination it is! Enjoy.

A few bath snaps. We do not bath much at our house because everytime the kids do Cooper ends up underwater more than above it. He is a maniac! He thinks he is as big and coordinated as his big brother. News flash Cooper... you are 7 months, not almost three and your chubby little legs cannot keep you afloat so ease up buddy and just sit still during your bath and maybe you would not get your tush thrown in the shower so much and then just maybe we would have more bath pictures on file! Much fun around our house with Cooper on the move. We think by 9 months we may have a walker. Oh, goodie!

Have I mentioned that we took a family trip, yes family that includes Jeremy, back to Seattle for a week in mid March? Well we did and look what Jeremy and I treated ourselves to... a little getaway. Just the two of us. It was the best. We slept, we ate and we sat in quiet, no kids. This is the first time since before Cohen was born that Jeremy and I have spent the night together without kids. Yes, that would be 36 straight months of no sleep, no piece and quiet, no just me time, him time or together time for less than a nap would allow. I didn't miss the kids for a second. Ok for maybe a second. It was wonderful and WE ARE doing it again!

At one point I laid lifeless in the soft fluffy bed and said...

Me: "shhh... do you hear that?"
Jeremy: "No, what?"
Me: "Exactly!"

Amazing that is all I have to say!

So for this dad March 30th will forever be his birthday but a year ago we gave new meaning to it. For Jeremy's birthday last year we found out whether we were having a baby girl or another little guy to add to our family.

As most of you know by now we added a boy, Cooper.

So we went from one little guy Cohen to two little Beach boys... Cohen and Cooper. And I will say that the proud dad to these little guys has made being a parent look easy here lately.

And that is the story of how Jeremy's birthday will now be forever spent with these two little devils. We always joke and ask when this happened? .... kids that is. We only remember life without them when they are on our nerves or when we are sleep deprived, which is more often than not. But look at this big 32 year old softy! How could anyone imagine a better birthday than a birthday with your boys. (okay maybe I can imagine a more exciting one involving a beach vacation, mixed drinks and no kids but I will save that for when the boys are not so cute and little) So happy 32nd birthday Jeremy. Hope you enjoyed it, lonely cupcake and no gifts is how we do it these days! *And yes we chopped Cohen's hair. I hate it, not the cut just that is is not long and shaggy anymore. We will be growing it back for those who miss it already!

Showing Koda some love on the blog. She is such an old gal now at almost 13 years young. She has the spirit of a teenager with the set ways of an old timer. She is the best dog. The poor thing never wanted kids around but she sure puts up with them and with no fuss. Okay she steals Cohen's food right from his hand or plate just to tick him off. Those two have a love hate. It is pretty funny really. Seems as though she tolerates Cooper in a much more mothering manner.

7 months down

7 months down and a lifetime to go. Oh Coop the best times are yet to come. So far you are off to a great start. You make us so happy. As a matter of fact you make us giddy and you even make your daddy cry (a joyful cry... I am the one who gets up with you twice at night some nights so my cry is one of pain). You boys have made your dad soft and you especially. You make him the happiest pop in town ever since you started to do this light up, smile, and start shaking your pudgy little body routine whenever he walks in the same room as you. I don't blame you. He is the fun parent but in time you will figure it out that I am the better of the two of us.

You have been sitting up since a bit before 5 months, crawling at 5.5 months and pulling to a stand somewhere shortly after 6 months. You now cruise furniture, people, or between whatever you can get a hold of. I can tell you are anxious to get to walking. I beg and plead with you to slow down, relax but you insist on keeping up with your big brother to whom you are obsessed with. Not sure why... do you not hear him whine all day, every day. Do you not remember how just last week he tried to pick you up and carry you, just to drop you on your chest and chin... on the tile floor? He told me it was an "accident" but who was he trying to kid? Accident or not he dropped you! He doesn't stop you from playing in the dog bowl and he takes all your toys. So please just realize he is not that cool and you do not want to hurry up to keep up with him. So slow down, stay a baby a while.

I love, love, love that your tongue is never in your mouth and that you wiggle it like a lizard every chance you get. I love how you go into convolutions when you hear me shaking your bottle. I love how you play with my hair when I feed you. I adore your chubby little hamhocks and chubby cheeks (both sets). I cannot kiss them enough. I love how you lean in for kisses. I cannot get enough of your giggle, especially when you laugh at Cohen jumping on the bed. I love the rolls on your legs, the downward turn of your mouth, the look you have that reminds me of my grandmother and mom. I eat up how you love to snuggle, and how you march to the beat of your own drum (you eat when you want, nap when you feel like it, and rarely cry or fuss between). I love how when you do finally decide to cry you let me have it and show me no mercy. I think one of my most favorite thing about you at this very moment (besides the fact that you love my awful singing) is that you LOVE to shower, alone, with me, with your brother, your dad, your dad and brother. You are a shower nut. Its great. Your fussy I shower you, your poopy I shower you, your tired I shower you, your happy I shower you. No matter what the mood the shower does you good. Its great. I also love that your a tech geek. Well, not really, its actually quite annoying. You throw a fit over the computer, iPad, iPhone, remote control but instantly stop when I hand you any one of the above.

Well Coop, I could go on but I will spare you the mushy embarrassment. Just know that we think your the greatest 7 month old, little brother, 2nd born baby in the entire world and that we thank our lucky stars that you are ours! You just have that something, that something that makes us happier than ever before!

Dirty Little Boys

No there is nothing wrong with him except that he is a boy, an almost three year old boy with a head full of nonsense and imagination. I have a ton of friends and family having babies... All of them boys to be exact. I figured I would give them a glimpse into a typical day with my almost three year old, who is all boy! I found him last Saturday morning on the side of the house digging in dirt looking like this. He is a total mess, a character (and I do not mean buzz lightyear). He is the cats meow and that is why I would still take him to the grocery store, mall or the park looking like this. Trust me it has happened.

Cohen Says

This little booger who I seem to call Charlie all the time, as in sorry Charlie, has been saying some funny things... So here you go:

So I am getting ready to meet a girlfriend for dinner. I did not know Cohen was lingering around our bathroom and bedroom...

Me: Damn it!
Cohen: What's wrong mom? (as he puts his hand on my arm from behind me)
Me: Oh I have a stain on my shirt
Cohen: Oh, that's okay mom you always have a stain on your shirt
Me: silence... I just put my finger on his forehead and knocked him to the ground

now he says "you always have a stain on your shirt" when he wants to make me smile

Here is another. Cohen and I are playing a game of "pitcher" as he calls it. As in I am the pitcher he is the batter.

He is putting out a terrible effort. I mean he can hit the ball. So I say...

Me: Come on you can do better than that!
Cohen: Come on mom you can pitch better than that!
Me: Terd!

happenings

I do not even have time to write. We are busy. Well at least it feels that way. After moving last month I am finally getting settled. My March calendar is slammed and I worry I cannot balance work, kids, relationship, home responsibilities but some how I always manage. The boys are good. Cohen is getting closer to 3 everyday and I cannot believe the things that come out of his mouth. I need to post our conversations. I will do that soon. Cooper is 6 months crawling, pulling up on things, bonking his head all the time and eating a bit of solid foods although not interested much despite hawking Jeremy, Cohen and I whenever we eat. We love our new house and cannot wait for warm weather so we can get out in the yard. Cohen calls his yard the sandlot and yells at Koda for pooping in his sandlot. I love it. Enjoy the pics.

And He Is 6 Months...

Cooper is 6 months today! It has flown by with ease. A speed bump here and there but that has been it. I could not have asked for a better, more funny and enjoyable little guy to help ease into the transition from 1 to 2. Jeremy and I say it often "we are lucky, could you imagine if he weren't so easy?" I do not have too much dirt on Cooper to share, he causes us very little parenting pain. I give it time, soon I will have headaches, and tantrums to share with you all but until then I am just going to enjoy and cuddle this perfectly chubby guy! More 6 month photos HERE.

We are talking 22 inches people...

We have never seen a snow fall like it. Not even my winters at Minnesota. 22 inches in under 12 hours. In Arkansas... What the hell, right? So this guy who has no snow gear and apparently no wardrobe either (notice the blue scrub pants once again), took to digging the car out. Also notice the snow is at Jeremy's knees. He is 6 foot 2 inches. We are talking a lot of snow!

So Cohen finally man'd up and put on his snow gear to find out the snow is fun... a lot of fun!

He attempted his first snow angle. Half ass'd but not bad.

He even made his first snow man. If you did not know this, this kid is obsessed with Frosty the Snow Man. He finds videos of Frosty on the iPad and plays them all the time. He sang Frosty the entire time he and his older girlfriend Kaelee were building the snowman. Kaelee is 10, lives down the street. He loves her.

Jeremy, who was suppose to be shoveling the drive somehow got suckered in by the neighbor girls to dig a snow fort for them. Jeremy is a sucker... he dug out their fort and didn't get the drive finished until just before dark. Kaelee is in the blue jacket. Again, Cohen loves her.

All the while Cooper and I got to watch all the fun from the warmth of the house. Which is totally fine by me. Snow is for the birds and I would much rather spend my days on a beach somewhere than in the snow.

Cooper and Cohen are really starting to look alike! Its crazy some days I see it and others I do not. Cooper experienced his first snow today at 5 months Cohen at 7 months. Its fun to see them wearing the same thing (despite the 2 month difference in age at the time of their first snows).

I have been a bad blogger. One of my new years resolutions is to be a better, more creative blogger. But for now you get another one of my this is why I am too busy to post, posts... my kids and my work, we are moving to a new house and out of the studio and bringing the studio to the new house which is why we are moving.

Cooper is now 5 months. I know, its ridiculous how fast the time has gone. I know none of you moms what to hear it but it has gone so smooth with him. He really is an awesome baby. With a capital A. That was dorky. A happy baby with little fuss. He has been sitting for about a month now, seriously sitting unassisted. And he is a big boy. Quote from a stranger while Jeremy had the boys out by himself "looks like you have yourself there a quarterback (Cohen) and a linemen (Cooper)!" (in a southern accent of course, you know the type)

But to make you moms feel better about my perfect baby... Cohen, well he is a different story. He is 2.5, killing me slowly everyday. No bed time before 10pm, no nap without a fight, no meal without a fight. He wants to do it his way ALL the time... Yes, he is in full blown terrible twos. I think Cooper is so good because well, Cohen, yup sorry bud, your just so bad! You say bad words and justify why you say them, you open up other kids presents at their birthday party because you have convinced yourself that every kids birthday is really your birthday. You refuse to change from your pj's into day attire and refuse to change from day attire into your pj's. I just cannot win. However even though I feel defeated daily by you, you bring me joy... like when you say things are D-ALICIA instead of delicious just to be sweet to me, and when you say "momma I miss you or momma I love you" because you want to stay up and not go to bed. When you do the twist to Chubby Checker and the Fatboys to cheer Grumpa up. Or when you say "oh hims cute" when talking about Cooper but my favorite is when you ask to babysit Cooper... you get nervous when you ask, like I am going to attack you for asking, you stutter and say "ca-ca-can I babysit Cooper today mum?" just like every time you as I seriously consider it because #1 I am so tired most days I do not care who watches my kids, and #2 because your free. Then better judgment sets in and I tell you, when your 3! You smile and go about your day. I love that its that simple for you.

You can see this better on my photography blog by click HERE. The photos above were taken of Cohen on the left at exactly three months and Cooper on the right at exactly 3 months. Yes, Cohen is much smaller. He weighed just under 11.5 pounds at three months and Cooper, well we go Tuesday for a check up but at 2 months we weighed 12 pounds so I am sure he is about 13 or 14 pounds now. I am not sure if you all know this but when Cohen was first born he was sick until about 8 months. So he was a bit on the "tiny" side. He did not weigh but 14 pounds at 7 months when we finally figured out what was going on with him. So having Cooper be healthy is a wonderful thing and I will take a healthy happy baby any day. Not that Cohen wasn't happy but he was sick and just never felt great. Once we did get his issues under control Cohen was an entirely new baby and it was a wonderful thing. So anyway, enjoy these pics. The top is of Cooper at exactly 3 months.

Three Months...

We also forgot another birthday. Another grandma's b-day. Gramma Bridge. How could we forget to say happy birthday to this old gal? We talk to her almost everyday on the computer (skype) that is how. She is just accessible so we forget to give her shout outs on the blog. That and she was in town for us to say happy birthday to. Cohen and Coop love you mom and that is what makes my heart skip a beat. I hate that you are far away and that we have to computer hug! I hope when you blew your candles out this year that your wish was that we lived back in Seattle. Happy late birthday. We all love you!

That's right, Cooper is three months old today (well yesterday). I cannot believe he has already been here three months. The time is flying by so much faster with Cooper than it did Cohen. I really want it to slow a little but I guess this is just the pace when you are busy as a family of four.

As Cooper turns three months Jeremy and I have been seriously contemplating changing his name! I know right? We are just having doubts, issues of sorts. Running into A LOT of Coopers, calling Cooper Cohen but never calling Cohen Cooper, having a disconnect to his name. The other day Jeremy asked me to hold this... "this" was Cooper. It took us over three weeks to mail in his birth certificate papers cause we were not sure and now I am thinking we should have gone with our gut then. So we are talking about changing Cooper's name.

How does Tate Michael Beach sound?

That is where we are leaning... Maybe we are just over analyzing it but we just are not sure about Cooper but hell what are Jeremy and I sure about?

Cooper is great by the way. He is strong, a smiley guy, with screeches and giggles to accompany his grins. Still easy going yet giving us some trouble at night but I think its just a phase. He fits in around here.. Like he has always been here. We just love him! Almost rolling over, he Loves his baths with a capital L, and he man farts. Loud man farts. He will kill me someday for that but its true. He finally loves the car (thank god), and he is not a long napper which kills me but he cat naps so I will take what I can get. Between napping he smiles, and then smiles some more. He is the salt to my pepper.

Happy birthday to our one and only Grammie Kate! Her birthday was November 3rd but better late than never right? Well we have been really busy... my mom and sister came into town a week after we returned from Seattle. We loved having their company and I miss them so much. Every time a plane flies overhead Cohen has been screaming out "M's (that is what he calls my sister) and Gramma... Grumpa too!" And then I have to break it to him that they are not on that plane and that they are not coming to his house.

He has loved that people have come to his house. It only took having another baby to make it happen but they have come and he has loved it. They get to pick him up from HIS school, get to play in HIS playroom, sit next to him in HIS car, meet HIS friends, well you get the idea. Its all about him and of course Cooper has loved all the attention and holding.

Here is a snap of my sister with the boys. My sis feels a real connection to Cooper. She thinks it is birth month, and sharing a name (cooper's middle name is after my sister Michaelanne). I think it is because Cooper unlike Cohen actually looks like my side of the family, well my mom's side that is... Foley, Irish! He has brunette/auburn hair and the prettiest blue eyes. His demeanor is simple and calm. He knows exactly what he wants at all time and is very much in control about it. At almost three months he seems like a much older baby. It could be that he is so long... but his personality is that if an older baby and he is routined like one as well. Lucky me I guess.

I Edit... A LOT!

Being a mom keeps me busy, then you add on home maker, bill payer, wifey (ok baby momma), and photographer and my day never ends. Seriously, each day rolls into the next. I never feel like the house is cleaned, laundry is done and so on because all my free time is devoted to editing. But look at what I get to edit. The shooting is the easy part, the part I enjoy. Unfortunately the thing I hate is editing but really I love it because once I start I cannot stop. Its like art therapy for me. So here I edit and I just wanted to share how much editing I do. Check out all my recent editing HERE .

Oh the studio you ask... Someday I will do a post about the new studio. Maybe when it is finished and I am far from finished with it! I have been using it but it is not complete.

Cohen's picture was taken at 10 days and Cooper's at 6 weeks. Although Cooper out weighs Cohen when you compare where Cohen was at at 8 weeks Cooper really isn't that big to me. I think he is just all CHEEKS. I keep hearing how much the boys look alike and I just DON"T see it. I especially do not see it here but you be the judge! Enjoy...

Went to the doctor today because Coop has a bad cold and Cohen needed to get his flu shot. Well... the cute chubby little baby that is in the picture below is nothing but little. 12 freakin pounds.... 95%. He is a big boy which means one thing in my book. He is healthy. Oh this time around has been so much different. A healthy baby = a happy baby and that is what I have. Don't get me wrong I loved every second with Cohen as a baby but he was a mess and I was always worrying about him and he was hard to settle but Coop, not being sick, shows me how it is suppose to be. Cries when he poops, cries when he is hungry, and when he is tired otherwise he is content. So I will take fat and happy over skinny and fussy any day!

Big Cheeks

My boys... not much to say except that Cooper had his one month check up at 5 weeks last week. This is how he measured up...

Weight: 11.3 lbs
Height: 22 in

He is in the 65%ish for weight and he is tall, cracking the 75% for height. He has some super chubby cheeks. How he stacks up to Cohen... well, not fare to compare. Cohen did not weigh 11.5 lbs until he was almost 12 weeks. So we are not comparing the two boys. Cohen was sick (although we did not know with what, until 7 months) and Cooper isn't. So to compare is not fare to either boys.

Cohen was sick all last week, as was our entire house. Cohen went to the doctor and he finally hit the thirty pound mark with diaper and shoes on of course but it is a good mark, one we thought would take him forever since he is so lean and such a picky eater. So congrats C, you made it to 30lbs before you turned 3! Cohen is 28 months and Cooper turns 6 weeks tomorrow so now you have their stats. We are not sick here anymore and things are moving as normal.

August Recap

So here we are at a month. Wow it has flown by. We are crazy busy around here but it is a great time in our lives. So much going on and so much to share. The fall is so perfect here in Arkansas. So Cooper turned a month yesterday. I know everyone says this but where did the time go? Feels like we have never not had Cooper! He is still one of the best babies I have ever been around. So easy going and rarely makes a peep.

So I said I would recap August. Here are pictures of our August before Cooper's arrival. My mom, dad and brother came to town the week before Cooper's arrival with my mom and dad staying for the week after as well. We all had a really good time and miss them all so much. Hurry back guys!

Playing catch up from the past few weeks. Cooper is now just shy of 4 weeks, Cohen is 27 months going on 17 and well Jeremy he is the same old, same old. I am as busy as ever. We went to a wedding in Wichita, KS just two weeks after having Cooper. It was our first family trip as a family of four and it went really well. Cohen is pretty much potty trained, and I had my first "official" photoshoot since having Cooper and have 4 more sessions scheduled this month before I officially come off of maternity leave. It felt good to be back at it but I am clearly still in recovery mode because I did come back and nap afterward. I left Cooper for the first time with someone other than my mom, or Jeremy. It is so different the second time around. What took me months to do with Cohen only took me weeks to do with Cooper. Granted I left him in the most trusting of hands... one of the best mom's and people I know, Sarah. Cohen had a babysitter and where was Jeremy??? Golfing... and it was much needed. He has not golfed all summer really!

Cooper is still an awesome sleeper and even sleeping well at night. He sleeps for 4 hours at a time during the day and night with the longest awake period being for about 1.5 hours so he is a sleeper and so far SO good. A total snuggler, great eater too! Cohen is a crazy kid. Obsessed with Buzz Lightyear and loves his brother bear (will post videos when I have time). Enjoy the pics for now. Will try to post an August recap soon too. Then I should be caught up.

3 Weeks

I guess it is an obvious statement when I say "I am super busy"... We are adjusting to our family of four and really things have gone really smooth. Cooper turns 3 weeks tomorrow and it is really hard to remember what it was like without him here. He is a super good baby. He went from sleeping ALL the time to staying a wake a lot more here the past few days. He is content on his own, something I did not experience with Cohen. I am able to put Cooper down and walk away from him and finish a load of laundry, take a shower, do the dishes, make Cohen lunch. So for the most part I cannot complain. Aside from an awake period in the middle of the night Cooper really is a really good boy and pretty easy.

Cooper makes the cutest little noises. My mom compares them to a gerbil, I say chipmunk. He likes to snuggle but at the same time he sleeps better by himself. He is cool natured... likes to be kept bundled up. (that is me all the way) He still has all of his hair, which we still cannot believe he has and that its dark! I think he is his own look, however he does share Cohen's profile, and has Jeremy's ears carbon copied. He does not have Cohen's lips despite puckering them when he sleeps. Cohen's lips are massive compared to Cooper's so no, I really do not see a ton of Cohen in Cooper and Jeremy and I actually see a strong mix of Jeremy and my mom's side of the family.

Cohen is adjusting well to having Cooper around. He really loves him. I find him going up to Cooper and saying "Oh, bruder (aka brother), him cute" or he is always asking where "baby bear is?" Today he did tell Cooper to be quiet when he was crying and believe it or not Cohen shares his blanket willingly with Cooper daily. Aside from being a bit rough from time-to-time Cohen really just does his own thing and does not pay too much attention to Cooper. The nursing and tending to Cohen is getting easier because Cohen does not seem to mind that I have to "make milk for Cooper?" as he says. Where at first he hated that I couldn't jump to his aid while nursing, now he doesn't seem to be bothered by the fact that while I am nursing I am all Cooper's.

We move into the studio later in the week and this weekend. I am really excited. I have clients that are already booked so I am anxious to get into the space and get rolling. I promise to share pictures when I have time to post. I need to do a recap of August too. I have so many pictures from before and after Cooper's arrival that are blog worthy. So until then. Another Beach Boy

#2 Has arrived! He s so stinking cute too! We decided on Cooper Michael... He was a much bigger boy than expected weighing in at 7lb 15 oz a measuring 21inches. We were expecting low 7lbs even into the 6's. I was measuring a week behind schedule as far as belly growth so we were surprised.

I labored from 9am-3:45pm, started pushing a little after 4pm and about 6 contractions & 12 or 15 deep pushes later our little guy arrived. Jeremy was a great cheerleader and I cried like a baby myself. I just cannot explain the rush of emotion that came over me when I saw him for the first time. It has to be, by far the best feeling in the world!

All fingers and toes, (skinny ones) accounted for. He makes little chipmunk noises. He is nursing well thank goodness. (I struggled with Cohen) Speaking of, he is doing great. He received a big brother gift from his little brother, napped during the main part of labor and when he woke he was so smitten acting when he met his brother, almost shy. That shyness quickly subsided and Cohen was saying things like "take baby Coop on walk with me?" " I feed baby Coop?" Hearing Cohen call the baby, baby Coop is what probably sealed the deal on his name. We were considering Ty (close second), Turner and Kennon. We have not put his name in writing so we have a little room to change it if we do not feel Cooper is right for our guy but I think that it is!

Well I cannot wait for yo all to meet our little guy!

Being Induced... In hours!

Here is a little snap from mine and Cohen's maternity portraits taken this past Saturday at 38.5 weeks. This might just be my favorite and a big thanks to Melanie Merkling for making it happen. She graciously donated her talents to me because she knows I am too cheap to pay for my own since I feel like I can simply set up a tripod and set the automatic timer, right?

I write this on the eve or now the morning of being induced with #2 or baby Frank as Cohen calls him. We will post pictures of the arrival of #2 and when I post I hope to have a name for our little guy. Until then he is #2 or baby Frank and I actually will miss calling him baby Frank but no Michaelanne we will not be naming him Frank, Frankie or Franklin. Sorry!

No I didn't have my little guy but I am slated to be induced on the 17th if he does not arrive sooner!

We did think he was going to too! Last Thursday we spent the evening at the triage center of our birthing facility getting evaluted. At 37 weeks I was dilated to a 3.5 with my contractions being only 2.5 minutes apart. I thought for sure that we were having the little guy with no name... but nope they sent us home at 11:30pm because my cervix never thinned throughout the contractions, etc. They considered it preterm labor. So here I have sat since Thursday with back labor and contractions just waiting for #2 to arrive.

I am officially on maternity leave from portrait sessions. I did my two final sessions this morning and afternoon. However, when will my maternity leave begin from editing? NEVER I would assume!

Headed into 37 Weeks

I have been really bad about posting. To be honest the blog is just not what it use to be for me. I have so much going on that I forget to blog until things have long past. I will try to be better.

So I am headed into my 37th week with baby #2. We still have no name picked out. We do have Michael set for a middle name, sticking with family members for that. My sister, for those who do not know, is Michaelanne. Cohen has Thomas as a middle name after my brother and they both share May as their birth month. Well baby #2 due August 24th, however we are being induced August 17th shares his birth month with his Aunt Michaelanne so we thought how appropriate. So That is where Michael comes from. Not to slight Jeremy's side but the kids get the Beach last name so we want to represent the Jerome's in there some where. Right now front runners for names are...

Turner
Ryden
Beckett

Feel free to chyme in. I would love to hear your thoughts. So I am posting a pic. from 36 weeks with #2 and providing a link to one of my very first blog posts... me at 36 weeks with Cohen. Click HERE for that. I am pretty much the same size and the exact weight. I even put on the belly mold I did with Cohen and sure enough it is the same size. I did it at this point in pregnancy with him. Strange how they are the same. With this one I am a lot lower, and more out. I was much wider and high with Cohen. I actually think #2 will arrive early seeing that I am already 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. We go to the doctor tomorrow so I should have another update then. Just to note with Cohen I never dilated. They induced me at 39 weeks at not even 1 cm so being dilated already is a great thing. Means labor should progress quicker.

Why I do not have time for you or anyone!

I hope this article is able to be read if yo double click on it. A friend (and client) posted this on her facebook and I could not help but share it. I am technically a stay at home mom that some how squeezes in owning her own photography company. There may be some weeks here I may only see one client and then four the following, all while take on a few design projects and a wedding or two and somehow I still manage to not have to put my son in daycare (yes he does go to school a couple of times a week until 2 and trust me that is not long enough)... I sit at 2:30 in the morning at 8 months pregnant with #2 (still not sure what I was thinking there but know I will embrace and love it) editing, emailing, planning, paying bills and wondering why the F do I do it this way?

I thought this article was perfect! So many of my friends without kids just do not get it... they just do not get how difficult it is to maintain friendships and the life you had before kids. They think I should be able to balance and trust me I would like to. The worst part is, is that I know so many husbands to my girlfriends, especially the ones that are just now having their first kids struggle to understand why their wife is too tired or busy for them (or sex) or why they act different! Mine acted the same way and still says he misses the old me. What the size 4 or the one that got so wasted on a Saturday night out that I slept Sunday away, or the one that worked out 5 days a week, worked until I was blue in the face, always had a clean car and house but felt empty? Well news flash... the old me is forever gone and I am a new women... a better women, a happier women, a busier women and a more tired women... and there is not a day I would want to return my son for my old life. Okay well, maybe yesterday. But seriously he brings me more joy than ever imagined and that is why I am okay being tired and "no fun" :)

So friends without kids and husbands who "hate" their new life with kids read this article and understand a bit better why we "stay at home mom's" with our "free time", play dates (you think that is what I want to be doing?) and time at home eating bon bons are different and less "fun" than we were before kids. Read it and you will get why when we have 5 minutes to ourselves its not spent with our hubby or a phone call to a bf, rather its spent to yourself!

PS... as I wrote this Cohen took his entire lunch... smashed it into the floor, and rubbed his pb sandwhich on the wall. You never get a free second away from worry or work with kids!

Update and Showered

Baby #2 update. I am 35 weeks. So just shy of a month away from my due date of the 24th. I started my weekly appointments this week where my doctor checks to see if I am dilated and thinning... Well, I am already a centimeter dilated so my doctor went ahead and scheduled me to be induced on either August 16th or 17th so my parents could schedule their flights out to help with Cohen but most of all be here for the birth. No one was here for Cohen's arrival. Jeremy's mom arrived the following day and my parents about 4 days after. This time we welcome the guest since beach boy #2 WILL BE our last. So great news that I am progressing right alone. Dilating and I am about 40% thinned out! Who knows at this rate I may go before my induction date.

I never posted about my fun little baby shower that my good friends the Tolson's threw for me two weekends ago. They are my home away from home and have become my little Arkansas family. Jill is one of my best friends and her sister, Robin, is close behind. Robin and I both had our first kids around the same time so it is fun to see Cohen and Gunnar get to spend time and now Jill has baby Harlow so the group of kids is growing and then their is Jill and Robin's momma Becky or Nonnie and the kids call her. She is the best too. I would feel familyless without the Tolson's! They showered Jeremy and I with a double stroller... huge THANK YOU for that! And of course Robin threw a great get together. Thank you Tolson family. I love you guys!!! Below are some pics from the shower.

I have been playing catch up with my photography... I think besides a wedding to edit and my pediatric clinic ongoing project I am all but caught up. Oh wait then there is print materials, etc. and oh did I mention a studio in the works for September? Click HERE to see what all I have been up to.

Cohen started school yesterday... bitter sweet. He did great minus a few bouts of tears throughout the five hours he was there. I keep telling myself its good for him to go and its good for me to have me time and work time! I will get readjusted. Hell he went to school all last year.

33 Weeks

We are at the 33 week mark with Beach boy #2. I am feeling pretty good! With Cohen my pregnancy was so easy and this one too. I will be honest and say I am tired at the end of the day, want to nap but I just can't with Cohen home and I cannot seem to get to bed before midnight with all my photography work and household duties. We had a check up today. Baby is measuring right on track and the heartbeat was strong. Again, the doctor we saw was more interested in Cohen's advanced baseball skills... videoing him on his phone doing his pitching from the stretch, high knee kick than he was in our little bean. Oh well, next appointment I am back to see the doctor who delivered Cohen so I will have more to update then.

Cohen went and saw his first movie. Toy Story 3 (3d) and hated it. It could have been that the 3d glasses they gave us were sized for Jeremy and not a 2 year old but really I think he is just sensitive to loud noises. He hated the fireworks on the fourth yet loved watching them out his playroom window from the second floor. Jeremy almost killed him with a "kid" firework so that probably did not help either. We went to a ball game with a fireworks show after and he just tucked his head into Jeremy's neck. So Cohen is a fireworks wimp which is okay by me. It means he won't be blowing any arms or legs off or blowing things up. Our friend Tory from Minnesota came and stayed with us for a few days. He and Cohen hit is off, playing ball all weekend.

Welcome Baby Landry!

Congrats to my close friend Melissa and her husband Jeff. They welcomed their new baby girl Landy Karis Conaway into the world in the wee hours of the morning. Sure that will not be the last time they are up late with her. You two have wanted a little one for so long and I cannot think of two people more deserving or ready for that matter. Not only did I spend 10 days in Seattle where I photographed a wedding with the wonderful Jocelyn Brown as a second shooter, and had three additional photo sessions but I have been asked by a new pediatric clinic here in NWA to create a website, display portraits in their waiting area, set up email and their email server, create a peekaboo ad and newspaper ad (as shown above) and they want me to maintain their website from now until they do not need me which I hope is never. I also have two sessions this week and a boat load of editing. This is what I wanted right?

When I created their peekaboo ad (local kids mag) I gave the new practice around 7 options to choose from with the final option containing the above image of our sweet Cohen. All options were great so I really did not know which they would lean towards. But you guessed it, they selected the ad with Cohen in it. He is going to be famous. Okay not really but I think it is fun that he will be in a couple of publications! This image was his two year portrait. One of my favorites ever of him. He looks so sweet and kind... almost heaven sent.

Funny how that is since we are totally full blown into the terrible twos and have a two year old who thinks he is a 20 year old professional baseball player with a bed time of at the earliest 11pm. By the end of the day I am ready to end my life. I am so tired and he just wants to keep on truckin, even fighting the 11:00pm bed time. This kid is going to have a rude awakening come July 13th when he starts school at 8:00am and will have to be in bed again like he use to by 9pm (which I think is 2 hours too late).

Oh, have I mentioned he cusses too. (I will get it on video I am sure) Yes, my kid says damn it like it isn't anything but the kicker is he uses it right. I just look at him with the mom look and he quits but it is embarrassing when I am in a store and drop something and he says "damn it" for me. My mouth is pretty clean now that I have him saying the bad words for me. Oh yeah, he also says fuck it! That's right... I do not need to spell it out again. I just say oh "bucket? You want to play with your bucket?" and hope all the judgmental onlookers do not think they heard what they thought they heard.

I have never hated swear words so much as I do right now. I want to clean up my mouth every time I hear him say a bad word. I know it is my fault (I have a truckers mouth... sorry truckers) and a few others contribute to Cohen's potty mouth (Uncle T). So I share this post with you mom's who post to their blog about how wonderful your kids are and how much they bring joy to your life. My kid brings joy alright, accompanied by a pain in the ass and eyes that are tired of glaring at him.

Oh, baby #2 update... I am 31 weeks. Went in for a check up Monday and everything checked out great. Strong heartbeat, measuring on the small side of normal which was how I was with Cohen. I am looking forward to not being pregnant since we have a heat index of 98 degrees going on right now and it is only June. The humidity sucks... although I LOVE the warm weather. I go back every two weeks until 36 weeks where I will be going once a week after that. No name yet... we do like a few but we decided not to tell anyone. It will give you something to look forward to when we announce his arrival!

Obsession

This kid is freakin' obsessed! He loves baseball more than anything right now. There is no point for other toys in this house. Trucks, books, shovels, cars, puzzles, yeah not so much. Give him a bat, ball and glove and he is set for the day. He takes them all with him everywhere... even to bed. He says "play ball", "batter up", "home run", "strike three out", "got a piece of it" and "safe" all damn day. You ask him who his favorite ball player is and he will respond with certainty... "Babe Ruth". He has dirt under his nails that will never come out, bruises from head-to-toe from sliding in what he calls "baseball dirt". It can be a 2x2 inch pile of dirt on the pavement, or dirt he takes from my planter and throws onto the yard. He sees dirt or gravel and he slides, yelling "baseball dirt, safe!" He watches Sandlot 3 times a day and baseball at night on ESPN. We can even hear him on the monitor as he tosses in his sleep say "baseball".

He can throw the ball up to himself and hit it. He riffles the ball at you when you are not looking and only sitting 2 feet from him. I have heard of just 2 year olds liking things but this is an obsession. An obsession that some would welcome but not us... no we are just shaking our heads, dieing for a break from playing ball every night outside until dark. Read a book Cohen, paint, color in your coloring book, shoot some hoops for god sake... Just give us a break from baseball for a while would you?

Our Long Weekend

Our memorial weekend consisted of a surprise visit from these two...

Uncle T is still here. We have been having fun at the pool, hanging out with good food and good conversation. Beach baby #2 update. Well I am 26 weeks along now. Cohen is totally getting that there is a baby on the way. He understands that the baby is a boy or a brother. He asks me about 5 times a day to "open him now!" I just die when he says it. He also refers to baby #2 as baby Frank (as seen in the video below). I have no idea where he got Frank from but it is hilarious and he is serious when he refers to him as Frank.

As of my last appointment, which was two weeks ago, everything checked out great and I am measuring on track. The baby's heartbeat is strong too. No name yet for baby. We are throwing some around but nothing is jumping out or sticking. It will be interesting to see what we do choose. It is really hard. Names are a BIG deal to me. I will say, Jeremy is making it hard. He is really firm on what he likes and what he does not like. That is really it for now. More videos from Cohen's birthday and of his various sports he is obsessed with to follow. Enjoy the baby Frank video for now!

I can hardly believe we are celebrating Cohen's second birthday today. I just love our little ragamuffin! He is a total nut. I cannot help but wonder what life would be like without him. (sunny beaches, sleeping in on the weekend, my old body, hmmm) I seriously cannot picture life without him and am thankful everyday that I get to wake up to his little face. I love you C! What Cohen is up to at 2...

Cohen is absolutely obsessed with all sports, particularly baseball. Which reminds me, Cohen, please give us a break from baseball! You are killing us!

He is sleeping with his bad and ball, wakes up saying "baseball game?". He even drops the ball to himself and hits it. (I will post a video of that at some point). "Baseball Daddy", "Pitch it Mommy", "Hit it Daddy", are all things he says a hundred million times a day. He even had the grandparents playing ball with him from dusk until dawn while we were in Seattle two weeks ago. Other than his obsessive personality Cohen is a happy guy. Hates to go to bed at night. Loves to nap during the day. Eats 10 lbs of grapes a week. Seriously!

He thinks all things are funny especially his uncle T's toots! (video of that to follow too) Is speaking very well and for some reason can master any name. Even tough ones. He loves Mickey Mouse, the patio and eating outside. He is still a lean guy. Maybe 27.5 lbs. He has his two year check up Monday so I will get exact numbers. The good thing about Cohen turning two is that I know longer have to keep track of his age by month. Who started that anyway?

A Beach Family Party

So while we were home in Seattle, Cohen had two birthday parties! The families figured that this might be their one and only chance to ever host a birthday party for C so both sides hosted parties for him.

His Auntie Linda (jeremy's sis) hosted the first party. She went all out. Decorations, party favors, and even an ice cream cake. Which from the photos below you can tell Cohen enjoyed. It was great to have Jeremy's mom and sisters there to celebrate Cohen turning 2. He really turns 2 May 6th but who is keeping track??? Kids need as many birthday parties as they can get. Eventually you get old and you don't have parties anymore. Thank you Auntie Linda. Cohen loved his party and thank you to everyone for his gifts.

So I find myself here is Seattle. Cohen and I are taking one last trip before he turns 2. Since after two he is no longer free to fly. While we are here in town I will be working and Cohen, well he will be playing and have two birthday parties! One of which he has already had. I will post those pictures soon.

I have a total of 10 sessions scheduled while I am here. Below is a little peek of the first session that kicked off a weekend of six shoots. I am tired... that is all I have to say. Two full days of shooting, one birthday party, being 5 months pregnant and taking care of Cohen is more than a full time job. So now I rest and edit until the next round of shoots. Finally.... we did it. We had our family portraits done! You would think being a photographer that this is something we would do often but not so much. Earlier this week I asked good friend, fellow photographer and soon to be co-owner/business partner at our new studio, (more about that later) Melanie Merkling, to meet us for what was suppose to be a quick shoot. I was really specific about what I wanted so I hope I didn't keep Melanie from being her creative self. Its just that I had a few wall portraits in mind and that was really all I wanted. However, I did want to document our little crazy family of three before we became four. And it looks like Melanie came through!

So the deal was, meet us for the shoot, I will edit and we will be quick. Well, Melanie took some great shots, despite us being us. Here is every ones little sneak peek of what I have edited so far. This is just a tease because there is more and some really cute ones too. So thank you Melanie. I appreciate it so much and of course soon I will be paying you back by photographing your little family of three.

Rough Easter

This little ragamuffin had a rough Easter...

He spent the day with this motley looking crew. Got kicked in the head by one of them (boy in blue). By accident of course. Ended up with a head full of dirt and a cut on his chin. You know... walk in front of the swing while someone is swinging?? Yeah, it happened to all of us when we were younger.
But at the end of the afternoon he was happy because he had this big guy to eat Easter candy with.
Oh, and last night he dyed Easter eggs and loved it. Not sure what is up with the shades inside and at night but he thinks he is cool so he rocks it!

It's a BOY!

That's right... we produce boys. Today we had our big ultrasound and found out that we will be welcoming another boy come August. Currently at 19 weeks our due date is holding firm at August 24th, however our ultrasound today showed a due date of August 20th. So Beach boy number 2 will be here sometime in mid to late August. We are excited to have another boy, more dirt, rocks and more balls in the house.

Above is a picture of Cohen's knee... head over heels he went. He toppled over the top of his play motorcycle that he rode right down our slopped walkway and down a straight curb. He successfully landed it twice but the third time was not a charm. He seriously milked this injury. Asking for cookies, the doctor, ice cream. He has it figured out and he is not even two! Wonderful...

Oh have I mentioned we are in the process of moving? Yes, moving... we are gypsies! We needed a place with one more room and we found one and signed a lease just like that. I told Jeremy we are not moving again EVER unless it is back to Seattle or into a home we purchase. I HATE moving but I do love getting organized and tossing things out. Moving shows me just how wasteful we are. Who needs all the crap we have?

This weekend was suppose to be the start of Spring instead NW Arkansas received between 10-12 inches of snow in 24 hours. It is freakin late March in the South for pete sake. I know I have said this time and time again but the mild and warm weather is one reason why I live in Arkansas. After this year my response to "Why in the hell are you in Arkansas?" is going to be "well the cost of living cannot be beat, nor can the pace of life or the friendly people." Warm weather and mild winters will not be a reason anymore.

I do know that the weather in the south can be crazy. We had a 65 degree day on Friday and then on Saturday and Sunday we got snow dumped on us like never seen before. Wednesday we are suppose to be in the mid to upper 60's and hopefully there is no looking back. Bring on Spring! Cohen and Jeremy did have so much fun in the snow. Total boys...

Looks like it is finally Spring here and Cohen couldn't be more excited. This kid lives for the outdoors! After what felt like the longest and coldest winter we have had in Arkansas I am so happy to see the sun. Cohen asked for his huskey sweatshirt and his sweat shorts so he could go outside and play ball ALL afternoon! Oh, that is a play hammer I am letting Cohen run with. Relax all you moms passing judgement, its plastic!

I Like to Complain

I officially feel pregnant! Something that use to cause me no body pain or fatigue wears me out. Every other weekend for the past month and a half I have covered an indoor track event for several universities. First Mississippi State at the Tyson Invitational, next it was the University of South Carolina for the SEC Indoor Championships and this weekend it was Florida State University, Baylor University, Texas Tech and the University of Minnesota for the NCAA Indoor National Championships. Why do I bite off so much especially when I am pregnant? I will be honest I do okay while I am there but when I come home I am a total baby... bitching about how I ache or how my stomach is crampy. I have been busy shooting this...

So these two guys have been spending a lot of time together...

First they went to this sweet gals Princess and Pirates birthday party...

Now it is Friday and those two guys are still spending time together because I got the flu on Thursday and I am quarantined to the bedroom. I do not give Jeremy kudos very often but really he has pulled through. He is a great dad! Didn't even fuss about having to take Cohen to work with him yesterday. Normally he doesn't do house work either (ok he picks up) but with me being sick he has even pulled through there. So kudos and a thank you to Jeremy. No one tells you that the only break you get as a mom is by getting sick and when you think about that, thats a shitty deal :)

Baby update... had my 15 week appointment yesterday. Everything check out. After a tamiflu script I am feeling better which means baby is feeling better too. Listened to the baby's heartbeat which was 156 beats per minute. Same as Cohen's average beat. Sounded healthy. So we are happy. Still no baby bump... give me a few weeks and I will have one to share. Next up... ultrasound to find out the sex. It is scheduled for March 30th. I planned it for that day since that is Jeremy's 31st birthday. What a fun treat huh?

So here are some snaps taken with my new little hand held. (Thank you MA) They are unedited, raw and totally real. These pics are just snaps of our life together as a family. Cohen really is happy... pretty much all the time. We are lucky that he is so well mannered and calm too.

However, I am not that mom who writes about everything being roses. I hope to always be honest and share both the good and bad. My only complaint right now about my perfect child is his whining! Man can this kid whine! Oh, and no means no and yes, and its no, no, no all the time. Do you want to brush your teeth? No! Do you want a cookie?, No! Then he whines that I didn't give him the cookie. Its loose, loose right now. I just ignore him and walk away. It seems to work.

Yes, you are correct that my kid rarely wears clothes. Most all of these shots were snapped on different days and there are only a few where he is clothed. Two of which are in the snow taken on the same day. Cohen would rather be naked... I just hope he grows out of that by college. That could cause some problems!

Cohen turned 21 months over the weekend. Yup, that means he is that much closer to two and we are that much closer to not having to count the months anymore. It will be so nice to say he is two even when he is 26 months or 29 months or 32 months... just two! The pictures in the snow were taken today. That is right, today. We have about 4 inches of snow and it is still snowing. We live in the South, what is going on? The milder weather is one reason I say I live here. Am I going to have to move?

The picture of Cohen in the tub was from last week, before his big hair cut. I miss his long shaggy, earth baby hair. I am growing it back out... just an FYI. Enjoy the pics as we enjoy our snow day.

I just realized I have not done a whats up with Cohen update in a while...

Cohen is about 3 feet tall... he is tall!
Wears a size 7.5 shoe... he has huge feet and hands. (you know what they say?)
Weighs a measly 25 lbs... if that!
Goes pee in the potty... "like Elmo", he says
Says football... all day, a hundred times a day
Freaks out if you change his clothes... loves everything he wears. (his favorite outfit is what he is wearing at the time)
Finally is completely off the bottle... that is right, not even at nap or bed time
Still loves his blanket
Puts two words together... help me, apple please, husky football, bye bye, puppy no, no, no
Says a million other words
Loves throwing snow, footballs, shooting hoops, the web cam, cheese, pretzels, spicy chicken, baking, hot dogs, apples, grapes, blue berries, black berries, Mickey Mouse, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abbie, his monkey, and Goldie the gopher

First Hair Cut

Cohen got his first haircut on Monday... well real one anyway. I have trimmed it myself and it always looked awful. He did great. We have a video that I plan on posting soon too. He sat as close to perfectly still as he could. I have seen adults squirm more. Our little long haired rag-a-muffin now looks like a clean cut little boy and I think I can speak for Jeremy and myself when saying I want his shaggy hair back.

The other photos are just a few snaps taken with my wonderful new point and shoot that my sister, Michaelanne sent me for my 30th bday last week. (better late than never) I must say I have the most generous sis in the world. Now I will blog more and take more photos. I just hated lugging my huge camera out just to take a snap. She was right when saying "it was an injustice that I did not have a good point and shoot. I have kids for god sake."
